Templating Instructions
✂️ Materials Needed:
- Scissors
- NON-Permanent marker / Pencil
- Torch (optional)
Note
If a window is identical to the opposite side, we only require 1 of the windows, ensure to write on the window that we need to duplicate and flip to avoid any confusion.
🧾 Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Fill out the form (if ordered a kit otherwise write a cover note)
Fill out the form found in your templating kit with the appropriate details, if unsure on any details just leave blank. If you haven’t ordered a kit then write a cover letter containing vehicle details, your name and contact details.
- Attach the Paper to the Inside of the Glass
Press your paper against the interior side of the window. Tape it in place using masking tape or have someone hold it for you so it lies flat and doesn’t shift.
- Trace the Outline (using a torch, if not skip to step 3)
Have a second person hold a torch to the outside of the glass so you can clearly see the edge of the glass, use a pencil or fine marker to carefully trace the edge of the visible glass from the inside. If the edge is hidden (such as by trim or rubber seals), trace just outside the visible area or estimate the full shape based on the inner contour.

- Mark Orientation
Clearly mark the top, bottom, front (toward windshield), and rear edges on the paper so you don’t lose orientation. Also, note which window it is (e.g., “Driver Front”).
- Remove and Cut for a test fit (Optional but Recommended)
Carefully remove the paper off the window and cut out the traced shape with scissors. Once cut out place the paper back in place and make any adjustments if necessary.
- Label the Template
Write on the templates-
- Which window it is for (Driver Front, Passenger Rear, etc.)
- “Inside” (so you know which way it faces when flipping)
